Speedster Riley Meredith has been added to the Australia A one day squad for its upcoming three-match series against India A.
Meredith, who produced a man-of-the-match performance (4-11) for Tasmania in its opening One Day Cup clash against Western Australia, has replaced Aaron Hardie while Victorian Will Sutherland has also been called into the squad in place of Jack Edwards.
Meredith joins Tigers teammates Nikhil Chaudhary and Mitch Owen in the 14-player Aussie A group, which plays its first fixture on October 6.
Cricket Australia has also confirmed Nathan Ellis will return home early from South Africa after suffering a side strain during Australia’s second ODI against the Proteas in Johannesburg.
Ellis was the country’s most consistent contributor during the three-match series against Zimbabwe and in the opening ODI against South Africa, before being forced from the field after just bowling four overs on Sunday.
