Matthew Kuhnemann and Beau Webster have today been included in Australia’s 16-man squad for the Qantas Test Tour of South Africa.
Australia will play three Tests against the Proteas in Durban, Gqeberha and Cape Town in a series which pits the top two sides on the World Test Championship and last year’s finalists against each other.
Kuhnemann, who last featured at Test level against Sri Lanka at Galle in February 2025, has been selected alongside Nathan Lyon as the front-line spinners.
The 29-year-old has played five Tests for Australia, taking 25 wickets at 22.2. This included figures of 3-63 and 4-63 in his last appearance. He also took nine wickets in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle.
All-rounder Webster retains his place in the squad after playing both Tests against Bangladesh in Darwin and Mackay in August.
