All the Ways to Play: Celebrating Play Cricket Month

This September, we're celebrating Play Cricket Month by showcasing all the ways you can get involved in cricket across Tasmania this summer.

Whether you have a child who wants to try cricket for the first time, a teenager looking to join a club, an adult chasing a social competition, or you're keen to get involved as a coach or umpire, there's always a way to play in Tasmanian cricket.

Girls Colour Blast

Age: 5-12

A great place for girls to give cricket a go. These FREE one-off clinics are packed with fun, skill-based activities and finish with an exciting all-in colour run.

Each participant receives a free giveaway pack on the day to help continue their cricket journey and grow their love of the game.

Cricket Blast Programs

Age: 5-12

Cricket Blast is the perfect introduction to cricket for young players, helping them build skills, confidence and a love for the game.

Programs are delivered after school or through local cricket clubs over multiple weeks, giving kids the chance to learn the basics in a fun and supportive environment.

Participants also receive a free participant pack, plus a complimentary Hurricanes Blast Pass Membership, giving them access to all WBBL home matches and two BBL home matches of their choice.

Junior League

The Hurricanes Junior League is a cricket competition designed to provide structured, age-appropriate opportunities for junior players across Tasmania.

With a focus on participation, development and enjoyment, it's the ideal next step for young cricketers looking to put their skills into action and enjoy playing with friends.

Senior Cricket

There are plenty of grades and competitions available across Tasmania, with opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.

Court Smash is designed for adults and teenagers looking for a fun, social way to play cricket with friends.

Played indoors with modified rules, matches are fast-paced, easy to learn and completed in around an hour. No matter your experience level, Court Smash is a great way to get involved and enjoy the game.
