About the Role

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, you will play a hands‑on role in leading and delivering contemporary people systems and practices across Cricket Tasmania (CT). Partnering closely with leaders and teams, the role supports the full employee lifecycle, strengthens leadership capability, and ensures people‑related systems are applied consistently, confidently and in line with organisational values. The role balances operational delivery with strategic contribution, supporting wellbeing, managing risk, and enabling leaders to create a safe, high‑performing and engaging workplace aligned to CT’s strategy and culture.

What you will do

  • Lead end‑to‑end onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, contractors and volunteers, including induction, alignment and exit processes.

  • Manage the annual Performance Feedback Cycle and support a culture of high performance and continuous development.

  • Partner with leaders to build capability and confidence across operational and strategic people and culture matters.

  • Lead end‑to‑end recruitment processes and provide trusted advice across the employee lifecycle.

  • Manage employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary and investigation processes, escalating complex matters where required.

  • Manage work health and safety systems, including hazard and incident reporting, investigations, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead the annual Employee Engagement Survey and support leaders to translate insights into meaningful action.

About you

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience in a People and Culture role.

  • Have experience using HR systems such as Workday, Culture Amp and Mercer Job Evaluation System (desirable) or similar.

  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically while delivering practical, fit‑for‑purpose outcomes.

  • Bring strong coaching and influencing capability, building trust and credibility across all levels.

  • Have highly developed planning skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to provide clear, practical and values‑aligned advice and recommendations in sensitive and complex situations.

  • Be a collaborative team player with a growth mindset and positive attitude, contributing to a psychologically safe work environment.

  • Be highly trustworthy, with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters professionally and discreetly.

  • Possess sound working knowledge of Australian workplace relations legislation, including modern awards.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including the confidence to facilitate group sessions.

  • Demonstrate analytical and problem‑solving capability, with initiative and critical thinking.
