Ahead of the National Championships beginning on Thursday in Launceston, Tasmania has confirmed its Female U16 squad, which will take on talent from across the country.
Playing in three 50-over matches and four T20s, Tasmania's team features 13 talented cricketers who have been working hard to fine-tune their game ahead of this week's Championships.
With matches at Invermay Park, Latrobe Oval, the NTCA Ground, and Windsor Park, the squad will be aiming to play their best cricket on grounds that many of them would be familiar with.
Tasmania will be captained by Mia Barwick, the Player of the Tournament from the U19 National Championships, who was also selected as part of the Hobart Hurricanes T20 Spring Challenge squad before the start of WBBL|11.
Chloe Casey, Imogen Ransley, Maggie Rogers, and Mackenzie Stewart, along with Barwick, were all members of the U19s squad and will be looking to draw on their experience from that Championship during the U16s this week.
The squad will be coached by Nat Schilov and supported by Pathways Coaches Alistair Taylor, Harry Nichols, and Harry Allanby.
Head Coach Nat Schilov is excited to be taking on the rest of the country on their home decks in Launceston.
“I am really looking forward to seeing what our U16 girls can do at their National Champs this week," said Schilov.
“We have a really talented group and last year’s squad showed great improvement from previous Championships, where we were competitive against the bigger states.
“Playing in Launceston also gives their families an opportunity to travel to the matches and watch our squad play against some of the best talent in the country.”
