In their first matches of the summer, the Tasmanian Female Second XI squad travels to Perth today to play in a tri-series against the South Australia and Western Australia Second XI sides.
Playing two 50-over matches and one T20, the Tasmanian side will be looking to take on some of the best domestic cricket talent not currently playing in the WBBL.
The Tasmanian squad features a strong blend of players from their WBBL and WNCL sides, players within Tasmania's pathway system, and individuals who have impressed in the Wilson Homes Cricket Tasmania Premier League this season.
From the Tasmanian Tigers squad, Kathryn Bryce, Ava Curtis, Courtney Sippel, and Callie Wilson will all travel to Perth with the Second XI to play more cricket during the WBBL|11 season.
Pathway players Mia Barwick, Chloe Casey, Ashlee Kennedy, Shelby Leonard, and Mackenzie Stewart were also selected in the Second XI as a tune-up ahead of their U19 National Championship in Newcastle later in December.
Meanwhile, Mel Armstrong, Julia Cavanough, Caitlin Mair, Clare Scott, and Kate Sheriff have all been performing well for their clubs in the CTPL and have been given an opportunity to stake their claim for selection at the next level.
The Second XI side will be coached by Female Pathway Head Coach Nat Schilov and assisted by Alistair Taylor.
