Cricket Tasmania is excited to launch our annual High-Performance Coaching Scholarship Program with the goal of supporting and developing the next high-performance cricket coaches in Tasmania who have the ambition to pursue High Performance coaching.
The purpose of the scholarship program is to:
· Provide high quality coach learning, development and experiential opportunities
· Create better connections across the coaching network
· Identify and develop high potential future HP coaches for our programs
· Support local coaches and/or future coaches to enhance the level of cricket within Tasmania
The Coach(es) will embark on a hands on, practical, learning journey to develop contemporary coaching skills, advance their interpersonal and leadership skills and gain a deep understanding of athlete development, gain a greater appreciation of coaching at elite level and the tools to help them progress, and take this experience back to their current environment to improve their program.
The scholarship program will take a blended approach to learning and development, based around contemporary coaching practices via hands on coaching experiences and exposure within the professional coaching environment, social learning through the connection with other HP coaches and mentorship. The program will be individualised based on the needs of the coach, and support for formal learning (coaching courses etc) may be provided based on the development needs of the individual.
Off the back of the program, the coach(es) will have gained valuable High Performance coaching experience and knowledge and for those that excel, there may be ongoing opportunities to work in the CT High Performance environment.
There is not a set number of places for the program, final numbers will be determined by the selection panel based on suitability.
