One Day Cup: Tigers Squad Release vs NSW

In their first domestic match of the 2025-26 season, the Tasmanian Tigers travel to Sydney to take on New South Wales in the One Day Cup tomorrow starting at 9.30 am.

After finishing fifth in the Dean Jones Trophy last summer, only one win outside of the top two, Jeff Vaughan's men will be looking to return to their first white-ball final since 2018-19.

Returning to professional cricket for his first match since the 2023-24 Shield Final is Iain Carlisle, who unfortunately missed all of last season with a stress fracture in his back, and will be aiming to make a positive impact for the Tigers with the ball.

Also returning to play for Tasmania is Mac Wright, playing his first game of domestic cricket since his ACL injury during the 2023-24 One Day Cup.

Nathan Ellis will be available for his first game for Tasmania since the 2022-23 season, after not being able to represent the state over the past two domestic summers due to commitments with Australia and other alternative white-ball T20 tournaments.

Riley Meredith comes into the squad fresh off a terrific summer in the UK playing for Somerset in the T20 Vitality Blast where he finished first overall in the wicket-taking tally, and the Welsh Fire in the UK Hundred, finishing second overall in wickets.

Unavailable for this match due to injury is Tigers Skipper Jordan Silk, who injured his quad during the Tigers practice matches in Queensland.

A second squad will be released on Thursday ahead of Tasmania's second One Day Cup match on Friday against Victoria.

Their 14-man squad for the match against New South Wales is as follows:

Iain Carlisle
Nikhil Chaudhary
Nathan Ellis
Bradley Hope
Matt Kuhnemann
Riley Meredith
Mitch Owen
Billy Stanlake
Matt Wade
Charlie Wakim
Tim Ward
Jake Weatherald
Beau Webster
