Australian ODI Call Up For These Tigers

Following the success of the test and T20 Australian teams in the West Indies, 50-over cricket returns for the first time since the ICC Champions Trophy in March.

In great news for Tasmanian cricket fans, Mitch Owen has been selected for his first Australian ODI squad, along with Tasmanian pace bowler Nathan Ellis, in three 50-over matches against South Africa.

Owen showed his batting prowess in the One Day Cup for the Tasmanian Tigers last summer, captivating all who watched, as he continued his strong form following his breakout BBL|14 campaign, scoring a 48-ball century with a final total of 149 off 69 balls.

Ellis's role in the Australian 50-over setup over the past few seasons has continued to expand and will lead the Australian attack alongside Josh Hazelwood, considering Pat Cummins and Mitch Starc are rested for these three matches.

Two of the three matches are in Mackay, with the first match played in Cairns three days after the T20 matches.
