Following two weeks of signing and re-signing announcements, the Tasmanian Tigers Female Program can now be confirmed for the 2025-26 season.
Joining the Tasmanian Tigers this summer is former Queenslander Courtney Sippel, whose medium pace bowling and infectious energy will provide a spark for the Tigers squad.
17-year-old right arm quick, Sara Kennedy, also joins the Tigers line-up, with her rapid pace and someone with a lot of potential who should excite Tasmanian fans.
Tasmanian all-rounder Ava Curtis earned the first-ever female Tigers rookie deal, following her strong performances in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League for the Greater Northern Raiders and at the U19 Female National Championships last season.
The final signing for Jude Coleman’s squad is Scottish all-rounder, Kathryn Bryce.
Bryce is a familiar face for Tasmanian cricket fans, having played for the Hobart Hurricanes last summer and having dominated for New Town CC in the CTPL in previous seasons.
A batter who can play anywhere across the order, having played in many roles for the Scottish national team, Bryce will use her international experience to help win more games for Tasmania.
Her bowling can also be used in different roles, with the ability to swing the new ball across different facets of a 50-over game.
Bryce will join the Tigers following the conclusion of the English summer, where she is contracted to play for the Blaze, along with the Scottish national team.
Mainstays of the Tasmanian Tigers female program, Molly Strano and Heather Graham had already been announced to be returning to their home states, while Julia Cavanough and Beth Lane have also not been offered contracts for the 2025-26 season.
Cricket Tasmania thanks Molly, Heather, Julia and Beth for their commitment to the female program.
Amy Smith, Callie Wilson, Emma Manix-Geeves, Maisy Gibson, Naomi Stalenberg, Nicola Carey, Rachel Trenaman, and Tabatha Saville have all received new deals and have either extended or re-signed to stay with the Tigers for the coming season and beyond.
Tasmanian Tigers Female Head Coach Jude Coleman discussed her excitement in announcing the 2025-26 squad.
“I am delighted to share our Tigers squad for this summer, knowing that this is the biggest list change the team has seen over the past few seasons.
“Losing Molly and Heather is disappointing, but I am excited by the possibility that this creates for other members of our squad who will see further opportunity on the field, but also off the field.
“Our coaching staff will need to focus on creating a positive, connected environment, as there will be some real competition for playing opportunities this season if everyone is fit, considering how talented our list is from top to bottom.
“I am confident that we have a squad that can get us back to a WNCL Final and compete for our fourth title in five years,” said Coleman.
