Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program Launch

Cricket Tasmania is excited to be announcing the Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program ahead of the 2024-25 season.

As part of Play Cricket Week, Cricket Tasmania can share further information on this new and exciting free school program, which will be delivered across the state.

The program encourages Tasmanian children to be active, healthy and have fun while enjoying all the benefits of playing cricket.

Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program will be delivered by trained Hobart Hurricanes Community Cricket staff and provides practical cricket experience combined with music and dancing for students.

This will replicate activities at local Woolworths Cricket Blast centres, with an emphasis on maximising participation and enjoyment for all.

Cricket Tasmania’s General Manager for Community Cricket, Alex King is looking forward to implementing the program completely this coming season.

Following a successful pilot program last season, we are excited to be investing more resources to the Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program that will provide opportunities to more than 20,000 Tasmanian students this summer.

With an emphasis on delivering fun and engaging sessions that creates excitement, this program will support our local clubs by providing local cricket information to girls and boys.

Our staff all over Tasmania will be extremely busy over the coming months, as students can have great first cricketing memories by putting a smile on their faces with a bat and ball in their hands in a fun and exciting way,” explained King.

As part of the Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program all students who participate in the program will receive Hobart Hurricanes giveaways, along with information about Woolworths Cricket Blast programs that are commencing in their area.

Cricket Tasmania is looking forward to seeing 20,000 students across the state play more cricket and have fun as part of the Hurricanes Blast Promotional Program.
