Following last week's draw between Tasmania and Queensland, the Tigers return home to Ninja Stadium for their first home game of the summer.
After strong batting performances from Captain Jordan Silk (104), Brad Hope (76) and Jake Doran (66) in the first innings, along with Nikhil Chaudhary (76* not out) and Caleb Jewell (67) in the second dig, the Tasmanian batters come into this game against Western Australia in form.
Jake Weatherald also did his potential Ashes selection no harm, scoring a half-century in both innings.
It was tougher going for the Tasmanian bowlers on a tough Allan Border Field wicket, with Chaudhary taking 5-108 on debut and Kieran Elliott continuing his good form from last summer taking 3-121 in Tasmania's only bowling innings.
The Tigers squad remains unchanged from their match against Western Australia, with all 12 players from their travelling squad remaining in Jeff Vaughan's side for their first home match of the summer.
Matt Kuhnemann and Mitchell Owen were unavailable for selection due to Australia's white-ball series starting on Sunday 19 October in Perth.
Beau Webster is still unavailable for this match following his ankle injury before the Shield match in Queensland. His fitness will be closely monitored in the lead into the Shield match in Victoria starting on 28 October.
Tasmania's 12-man squad for their match against Western Australia is as follows:
- Gabe Bell
- Jackson Bird
- Nikhil Chaudhary
- Jake Doran
- Kieran Elliott
- Bradley Hope
- Caleb Jewell
- Riley Meredith
- Nivethan Radhakrishnan
