Having won their first two fixtures against the ACT and South Australia on the road, the Tigers will be looking to continue their dream start to their 2021 campaign, however they will come up against a somewhat unknown quantity in Western Australia, in what will be their first match of the season.
In the most encounter between the two teams – in September 2019 - Western Australia claimed a 16-run victory over Tasmania, when the Tigers failed to chase down Western Australia’s total of 194. Although they haven’t played yet this season, Western Australia have five of their last six WNCL games and have the highest and second-highest run-scorers of the 2019/20 season in Nicole Bolton (436) and Chloe Piparo (365), so will be a formidable opposition.
Tasmania, however, have all-rounder Heather Graham - who will face up against her old side for the first time tomorrow - and opening bowler, Sam Bates, who - with an economy rate of 3.2 in her WNCL career versus Western Australia - is her best against any team.
With the change in fixture since the last squad release, the Tigers have re-released a 14-player squad to face Western Australia over the next three days:
Sasha Moloney (c)
Rachel Priest (vc)
18-year-old Chloe Abel and 16-year-old Maddison Brooks are both additions to the squad that travelled to Canberra, and should they be selected in the final XI will make their Tigers debuts.
The first ball is scheduled for 10am AEDT, with the game to be both livestreamed via YouTube (link to be shared on social media tomorrow), and live-scored on cricket.com.au and the CA Live app.
