Cricket Tasmania extends its thoughts and sympathies to the family and friends of Mr George Rodney Cass.
Rodney represented Tasmania at the First-Class level from 1970-73 and coached in Hobart during that period.
His whole First-Class career spanned 155 matches as a wicketkeeper and left-handed batsman, accumulating 4,304 runs at an average of 21.84, taking 213 catches and affecting 28 stumpings.
His highest score was 172* racking up two centuries and 16 half centuries.
Rodney was born on 23 April 1940 in Overton, Wakefield, Yorkshire over in the UK and played for Essex, Shropshire and Worcestershire as well as Tasmania.
