The Tasmanian Tigers have named a 12-player squad ahead of their Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia starting Friday.

Jackson Bird (hamstring) and Gabe Bell (foot) will both miss the match, with Andrew Fekete and Hamish Kingston being brought into the squad for the clash at Blundstone Arena.

Fekete has made one appearance at Sheffield Shield level this season, taking three wickets at the WACA in the corresponding fixture against Western Australia before the start of the Big Bash League.

Kingston has played two matches in Tasmania’s Toyota Futures League side this season, taking match figures of 4-56 against ACT/NSW Country last week.

Tasmania’s loss to Queensland over the weekend was further soured by the injuries to Bird and Bell, with Bird’s hamstring injury meaning he is unable to take his place in the Australian Test squad which heads to South Africa this week.

Bell has been a rising star for the Tigers this season, having taken 24 wickets through six matches. The Tigers are also currently without opening batsman Jordan Silk, as he recovers from a broken collarbone.
