Cricket Tasmania releases the following squad of 14 for the Tasmanian Tigers' first two matches of the 2019-20 Women's National Cricket League season.
The Tigers begin their campaign, which has been expanded this season to eight matches, against the WA Fury this Sunday before taking on the QLD Fire on Monday with both matches to be played at the South Brisbane Cricket Club.
Captain Brooke Hepburn will become the third female to play 50 matches for Tasmania in the next match she plays.
Three of the five players recruited in the off-season, Samantha Bates, Maisy Gibson and Belinda Vakarewa, are set to pull on Tigers colours for the first time. Emily Smith returns to Tigers colours following two seasons in Western Australia.
All-rounder Nicola Carey is in the Caribbean with Australia taking on the West Indies.
The Tigers are looking to build on their best-ever third-placed finish from last summer, when they won four of six matches and missed an inaugural place in the WNCL Final by a bonus point.
The squad is:
Brooke Hepburn (Captain)
Corinne Hall (Vice-Captain)
Head Coach: Salliann Briggs
Senior Assistant Coach: Dan Marsh
Assistant Coach: Sara McGlashan
Strength & Conditioning: Nathan Lee
