Our Tasmanian Tigers Women's side continued their preparation for the imminent WNCL season with a drawn two-game series vs. the SA Scorpions in breezy conditions in Adelaide late last week.

Salliann Briggs' side will train in Hobart this week before departing for Brisbane on Monday and play two further warm-up matches before their season opens with a clash against the WA Fury on Sunday 22 September.

Meg Phillips was the star with the ball in hand in Game 1 in the City of Churches, taking 4/17 from seven overs as the Tigers fell a narrow 20 runs short of the SA Scorpions' 209. Hobart Hurricanes captain, Sasha Moloney, took 3/39 from six overs.

A greater showing with the bat in Game 2 saw the Tigers pass the South Australian target with four wickets in hand, led by Emma Thompson's 67 (76) in the middle order.

Thompson was ably supported by Phillips' 38, Brooke Hepburn's 27 and Courtney Webb's as the Tigers reached the 203 target with three balls to spare in a 40-over per side contest.

With the ball in Game 2, new leg spinning recruit Maisy Gibson's 3/35 (7) made short work of the Scorpions' middle order and Belinda Vakarewa and Sasha Moloney took a pair of wickets each.
