Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes Women's Head Coach, Salliann Briggs, spoke to media this morning ahead of departing on her squads' pre-season tour to Darwin on Saturday morning.

The Hurricanes will take part in the NT Cricket's TIO Women's Strike League and the Tigers will play two 50-over matches vs. the ACT Meteors between Sunday 28 July and Friday 2 August.

"We've been training since the middle of May now, so we're really ready to see where we're at," said Briggs.

"After this group of matches it gives us another month or so (before the first round of WNCL) to build confidence on what we get from next week but also work on other areas."

"The competition is going to be really good and quite strong. I think the plan for it is to grow and evolve to have all states competing in it around the same time every year."

The group travelling to Darwin is:
