Cricket Tasmania is pleased to announce the signing of Naomi Stalenberg for the Tigers 2020-21 Season.
Stalenberg has made the move to the Tigers after playing for the NSW Breakers for the past 7 years.
After making her debut for New South Wales in Launceston in 2013, Stalenberg said she has always had a soft spot for Tasmania.
“I really love travelling to Tasmania, the people are great and so are the fans.”
Formerly she played as an all-rounder but made the decision to focus on her batting, bringing her to the top of the order and allowing her to focus on her fielding abilities.
“I’m really looking forward to coming down and making an impact,” she said.
“I’ve heard good things about the coaching staff, and Salliann was keen on me coming down.”
She discussed the role she was expecting to play in the top order.
“I just want to embrace any opportunity that Salliann is willing to give me.”
“With the bat I like to play my strokes and hit the ball hard, I always want to make an impression in the game.”
Stalenberg mentioned she was keen on playing alongside Nicola Carey, Maisy Gibson and Belinda Vakarewa again, who are also former Breakers players.
“I’m looking forward to regrouping with them and playing alongside them,” she noted.
“I’m very lucky to have some familiar faces down there already.”
She discussed how she’ll be embracing the new team and new environment, bringing what she’s learned over the last seven years.
“I just want to continue to build on who I am as a player and be able to make an impact in the Tasmanian Squad.”
