Recent fixture history favours the Tasmanian side – in the final match of the 2020/21 Marsh Sheffield Shield season, the Tigers recorded a comfortable 175 run victory, thanks to big hitting from middle order threats Beau Webster (135*) and Jake Doran (123) in the first innings.

Tasmania’s bowling line-up also gave Western Australia serious problems in last season's match, with mainstay fixtures Sam Rainbird, Jarrod Freeman and the aforementioned Webster all finding success to hamstring the opposing batters at the WACA.

Key to success in the upcoming match will be the recent form of Tim Ward, who scored his maiden Shield century in the Queensland tie, and Jordan Silk, who made a brilliant 90 in Friday night’s Marsh One-Day Cup victory at the same ground.

The Tigers have named a 13- player squad to take on Western Australia:

Gabe Bell
Jake Doran
Jarrod Freeman
Caleb Jewell
Ben McDermott
Lawrence Neil-Smith
Sam Rainbird
Peter Siddle
Jordan Silk
Charlie Wakim
Tim Ward
Beau Webster (c)
Macalister Wright

The game will be played at the WACA Ground in Perth, with the first ball scheduled for 1.30pm AEDT each day of play.

The match will be livestreamed on Kayo Sports, and the CA Live app.
