Now into its second year, the Beastwear National Indoor Cricket League (NICL) will see some of the country's best players compete against one another in a club/centre based competition, battling it out to be named the overall champions.

More than 80 men's and women's teams will be involved in the 2018 Beastwear NICL season, with teams competing for a share of $55,000 in prize money as well as national bragging rights.

The men’s divisions will include: the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales Metro, New South Wales Country, North Queensland, South-East Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria East, Victoria West and Western Australia.

The women’s divisions will include: New South Wales, South Australia, South-East Queensland, Victoria East, Victoria West and Western Australia.

Games will kick off from April onwards with divisional finals taking place throughout August, ahead of the Beastwear National Indoor Cricket League Finals Series held during the first weekend in September.

Live-streamed games will be hosted on rotation through each State and Territory on each Sunday evening during the competition at 6pm and 8pm AEST, and are available free for viewing via the Cricket Australia Indoor Facebook Page.

The first round was already live last Sunday 15 April from Action Indoor Sports at Brisbane's Victoria Point as the local Vipers successfully took on the Caboolture Snakes in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

The Tasmanian men’s division will this year comprise of five teams.

Returning Tasmanian Division winner Huon & Channel (pictured) will again be a strong outfit, and they are joined by last year’s teams: Hobart South, the Eastern Shore Roos and the Eastern Shore Bombers.

Joining the NICL for this season are the LJ Hooker Kingborough Knights, so we are delighted to have the Knights on board and look forward to see what they bring to the competition.

The first round of the Tasmanian Men’s Division will commence on Friday 27 April at Kingston's High Performance Cricket Centre, with games also to be played at the Action Indoor Sports Centre on the Eastern Shore. All supporters are most welcome to come along and watch.
