The Tigers WNCL Squad have gone down by one wicket against NSW in a nail-biting clash.
The Tigers opened the batting in the first innings and set a total of 200.
There were great performances with the bat from Sasha Moloney (59) and Maisy Gibson (48).
NSW started their innings slowly but gained momentum and managed to chase down 200 runs in the final ball of the match with a boundary.
Belinda Vakarewa claimed 3-wickets, but it wasn’t enough to stop the NSW batsmen.
Head coach Salliann Briggs said she was pretty disappointed with how the girls played.
“We were far from our best, but I was pleased with how we fought back from a poor start with the bat.”
“Both Sash and Maisy gave us a competitive total.”
She talked of how the first 20 overs with the ball were outstanding.
“We took 4 wickets but then didn’t execute our skills well enough to continue to add pressure.”
“We know we’re a much better team than that, and we will pick ourselves up for Thursday.”
The Tigers take on the ACT Meteors in Canberra on Thursday at 10AM, Phillip Oval.
