In their third fixture of the Marsh One-Day Cup season, the Tigers will be looking to make amends from their last one-day clash with the Redbacks, when South Australia defeated them by eight wickets back in 2019.
The Tigers have a formidable record against the Redbacks however, having won each of their last four One-Day Cup games against South Australia when this fixture has taken place on neutral ground, as tomorrow’s match will be.
Caleb Jewell is likely to be a key player for the Tasmanians, having scored 168 runs at a strike rate of 86.6 in his One-Day Cup career against South Australia; just 45.4% of the balls he’s faced against them in that time have resulted in dot balls, his lowest percentage against any team coming into this round of fixtures.
The Tigers will need to be wary for danger man, Alex Carey, however. Carey posted an unbeaten 80 in his most recent knock versus Tasmania in this competition (in October 2019), and comes into the game having scored 99 in his most recent one-day outing; against New South wales last week.
The Tigers have named a 15-player squad to face South Australia, with Riley Meredith and Jarrod Freeman the inclusions from the squad that was named to face Victoria:
Tim Paine (c / wk)
The playing XI will be confirmed at the toss tomorrow.
