Cricket Tasmania proudly announces the appointment of Jamie Cox to the position of Talent Manager within its High Performance Department.

Cox - played 161 First-Class matches for Tasmania from 1987-2005 to become the competition’s second-highest run scorer behind Darren Lehmann, and is currently the Head of Emerging Football Programs at St. Kilda Football Club and will continue in that role, dividing his time so as to optimise his impact on both programs as required across the calendar year

“We’re really pleased to have Jamie return to Cricket Tasmania," said Chief Executive, Nick Cummins.

"The position of Talent Manager is a key role within our High Performance Department.”

“Jamie has great history as a leader within our organisation and we look forward to seeing what can be achieved as he works closely with our playing lists moving forward.”

Cox can't wait to see more players on the rise from our Pathway Programs to Australian colours.

“I owe a lot to Tasmanian Cricket for the career opportunities that I have been fortunate to experience over the past decade," he said.

"I remain deeply passionate about seeing Tasmanian Cricket successful. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with some great people and helping wherever I can to develop male and female talent of international quality.”

“I'm also grateful to the Saints for allowing me to free-up some time and combine this role with another passion of delivering the St Kilda AFLW 2020 project.”

Cricket Tasmania's General Manager of High Performance, Drew Ginn, is sure Cox can manage his roles across the two sports.

"It’s exciting to be able to recruit a person of Jamie’s capability and experience and I am confident he can manage the role in line with what Cricket Tasmania and St. Kilda Football Club have agreed too.

"As a past Captain of the Tigers and in his previous roles in High Performance Cricket and Football, he will be a great asset to our coaches and players."

Jamie will begin as Cricket Tasmania's new Talent Manager from mid-December.
