Cricket Tasmania is very pleased to announce Scott Barnes as the new General Manager of the Hobart Hurricanes, commencing in April.

Barnes is a sponsorship and commercial specialist with extensive experience in senior roles with various high-level Australian marketing and communications agencies.

Scott brings a strong track record of running complex agency businesses, focused on building and growing revenue and delivering ‘best in class’ sponsorship and commercial outcomes for his clients, partners and consumers.

He joins Cricket Tasmania after 13 years in Sport Sponsorship and Entertainment agencies - most recently as Managing Director of acclaimed international business Prism - having led their Australian & New Zealand operation through a strategic business transition, proudly working with clients such as KFC, Bankwest, Casio, Vodafone, Bridgestone, Ford and Asahi.

Barnes said he was looking forward to the challenge in the new role, especially given the recent success of the Hurricanes.

Prior to joining Prism, Scott began his career working for STW Group Company Subnine, beginning in 2006 before ultimately becoming General Manager - working with clients such as Qantas, Ford, HSBC, Bupa and Telstra across the Australian sporting and entertainment landscape.

After nearly nine years in the role, Scott joined Ensemble as Head of Partnerships & Commercial strategically advising clients in the Sport, Entertainment & Media landscape in a variety of capacities before teaming back up with WPP AUNZ in his current role at Prism.

Scott has worked with KFC for over 5 years, including their naming rights partnership of the KFC Big Bash League, managing and leading a vast array of fan engagement and brand campaigns including the famed ‘bucketheads’ which is now synonymous with the league and its fans.
