Cricket Tasmania this week welcome Kristen Beams and Clive Rose to the Coaching & Talent team within its High Performance Department.

Kristen Beams will be joining our Coaching & Talent team as a consultant whilst plying her trade in the WNCL for Victoria and the WBBL for the Melbourne Stars, working alongside Clive Rose who will work full-time as the Coaching and Pathway Specialist.

The pair will work in tandem with Hurricanes Academy and junior State team coaches and athletes, ensuring players enter the High Performance from the Under 17 age group onwards as prepared as they can be for the years ahead.

Launceston-born Beams brings with her a wealth of experience as a coach and player at the highest level, experienced as both an administrator and Level 3 Coach within cricket at all levels from club coach with Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club (Victoria), to Game Development at Cricket Australia, to working in the Past Player Program at the Australian Cricketers Association and as a High Performance Scholarship Coach with Cricket Victoria.

Beams will commence her consulting role attending the Premier Coaches Summit from 5-7 July in Brisbane.

"This feels like a great opportunity to see what life looks like when my playing career does end," Beams said to media today.

"I certainly want to be here at the end of my playing career and I'm feeling very fortunate that Cricket Tasmania has given me this opportunity."

Beams left Tasmania before the Female Program moved to being full-time with a pathway element with all players living in Tasmania and having noticed this rapid rise, she can't wait to contribute to it.

"I'm genuinely passionate about seeing young girls and boys come through the pathway and play for the state. If I can help them learn their craft and stay here, that'd be pretty amazing."

Rose was a strong applicant for his new role having Head Coached Kingborough in the Detail First Cricket Tasmania Premier League along with his experience coaching privately and in the pathway.

He brings with him a very good understanding of high performance environments through playing with the Tasmanian Tigers, Hobart Hurricanes and the Melbourne Stars.

Clive is currently completing the Level 3 HP Coaching Program and is a product of the Australian Cricket Pathway as a player & coach and will provide valuable knowledge and experience to our programs.

"I've been aspiring to get into coaching more and more the last few years," said Rose.

"I love cricket and I think this is the next step going forward. Life after playing cricket is coaching for me."

"I really enjoyed being at Kingborough and seeing young players push their way up through the grades was fantastic and I want to do more of that."
