There are not many Tigers players who have claimed 2 wickets and 64 runs on debut, but Nic Carey is part of the elite few.
After coming off a win in yesterday’s match, we caught up with Nic to see how her first game for the Tigers went.
“I was really happy with how the game played out yesterday. I thought we bowled really well managing to get them out for under 200,” she said.
“To chase down that total in under 40 overs was a much-needed bonus and was a great result for us.”
She spoke of how the team had set plans throughout the match, with a major focus on trying to execute them properly.
“I thought we did well for a majority of the game yesterday, we’ll be trying to execute this again tomorrow.”
Preparation will be key for the Tigers squad heading into tomorrow’s game.
“Rest and recovery will be important for the squad,” says Carey.
“We were happy with what we did yesterday, but we’ve had a chat about a few things that we could improve on. There won’t be many changes for us so we’re hoping for a similar result.
With the temperature set to reach 39 degrees in Adelaide, the game will be starting at 9am AEST to avoid the hottest part of the day.
“We’ll have a couple of hours before it really starts to really heat up,”
“I reckon there’ll be more drink breaks, so I don’t think it will pose much of an issue.”
