Tasmanian fast bowler Gabe Bell’s season appears all but over after sustaining a fracture in his right foot during the Tigers’ loss to Queensland in Brisbane.
Bell pulled up short during the final over of day two, unable to complete the over or take any further part in the match.
Bell’s injury means the Tigers are left with a couple of gaping holes in their bowling attack, with Jackson Bird sustaining a hamstring strain only a few overs earlier on the same day.

Bell has been one of the rising stars of Tasmanian cricket this season. The 22-year-old has captured 24 wickets in six games in the Sheffield Shield competition at an average of 19.79, including six wickets against the Bulls before going off injured.
Tasmania’s injury list now contains three key players, with Bird and Bell joining opening batsman Jordan Silk on the sidelines after he broke his collarbone playing for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.
