Gulbis is a young, powerful batsman who originates from Willamstown and played his club cricket for the Carlton Cricket Club and has recently relocated south to Hobart after receiving a Tigers contract for 2011-12.  The 25 year old, nicknamed Gobbler showed his true potential and electrifying ability in the short form of the game after scoring a blistering 124 runs from 57 balls for Carlton in a Victorian Grade cricket match.   He will be looking to force his way into the Tigers side this season and become a regular starter.
