The squad will spend more than three months at the Bupa National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, under the guidance of National Performance Head Coach Troy Cooley and newly appointed High Performance Coaches Matthew Elliott and Ryan Harris.
This year – the 30th year of the program, which was formerly known as the Australian Cricket Academy and the Centre of Excellence – will feature several specialist camps and a tour to the MRF Academy in India.
Cricket Tasmania Talent Manger Michael Farrell said it is great to see these three young players be given this opportunity during the off-season.
“All three are considered long term players for Tasmania, with selection in the NPS also a clear indication that they are players of interest from a national perspective.”
"Ben and Jake have both shown glimpses over the past two years in the domestic competitions of their ability, with the next phase of their development being to perform on a consistent basis when presented with their next opportunity".
"Mac has shown rapid improvement since becoming a rookie contracted player. He has a very strong work ethic, and fitted seamlessly into our cricket program. Mac played well throughout the season, and what was really evident was his ability to play well at Premier League and Futures League level when under pressure. Mac is a credit to himself and his family with the way he presented himself throughout the season, and we look forward to his further development next year and in his time with the NPS".
"Having three young players in the NPS squad is important for Tasmania, and our entire cricket program should be very proud of them. It clearly shows Tasmania like all other states play a vital role in the continued improvement of Australian cricket". Farrell said.
The squad’s pace bowlers will arrive for a three-week program on 8 May, before the full program begins on 29 May. The program begins with a five-day boot camp in the Snowy Mountains, ahead of Spin Camp (12 June - 16 June), the MRF Tour in late July and a Fielding and Wicketkeeping Camp from 14 August - 20 August.
