Tasmanian Roar Head Coach Julia Price said it was great to be able to finalise the squad officially as they prepare for the one-day format of the game with the Roar playing their first match against Western Australia on Saturday the 7th of October.

“I’m very excited to be including local players Erin Fazackerley & Courtney Webb onto the Roar playing list for this year.   Both have consistently been improving their game through our pathways and thoroughly deserve their spots in the squad.

“It’s also great to be welcoming Stefanie Daffara who will provide us with some extra batting strength in the top order.   Laura Wright was an un-contracted member of our squad last year but proved her worth in 2016-17 and has also been offered a contract for this season.

“The team has a really good mix of experienced players and some new up and coming players and we are looking forward to continuing to improve our performances in the WNCL after a couple of really good wins last year,” Price said.

Entering its 22nd season the WNCL will be played over three weekend rounds commencing on 6 October, 25 November and 16 February, culminating in the final on 24 February, with Tasmanian Roar playing New South Wales on the 16th of February and ACT on the 18th of February in Hobart.  The full fixture can be viewed here.

The Tasmanian Roar are yet to contract their final squad member, with an announcement likely to be made in September.
