U18's 2011-12
The U18 girls also finished 7th in their carnival in Ballarat and showed their sportsmanship by taking out the Spirit of Cricket Award. Cripps Tasmanian Roar youngter Meg Phillips was outstanding as captain, showing maturity beyond her 15 years to lead the team extremely well and bowler Janelle Rattenbury was the side’s best performer and could have taken wickets in every match if catches were held. Coach Scott McNaughton said the side showed positive signs across the carnival but not playing consistent cricket proved to be the difference against the bigger states.
U15's 2011-12
The Under 15 girls coached by Adam Drinkwell finished 7th at the national championships in Sydney in December. Unfortunately rain played havoc with the carnival and the girls only completed four out of seven matches. In the matches that were completed the girls were very competitive with their best performance against eventual champions QLD where they scored 3-80 from their 20 overs. Captain Rebecca Burns was a stand out in the carnival, scoring more than 100 runs without being dismissed. She also set a new record, claiming the highest individual score at an U15 National Championships for a Tasmanian female, hitting 47 not out.
