The introduction of Cripps Tasmanian Roar into the Women’s National Cricket League has generated even more interest with the competition looking like expanding on the four clubs that participated last season.

Cricket Tasmania Grade Cricket Manager Chris Garrett said clubs are building on their women's programs and reaping the rewards.

“Women cricketers of all ages ranging in ability are sure to find a niche in 2010-11, with the popular Twenty20 format continuing and the addition of 50-over games into the overall competition.

"Current and prospective state junior players have been able to use the competition to fine tune their skills ahead of respective national championships and clubs are currently in recruitment mode, with Cricket Tasmania very keen to hear from anyone interested, " Garrett said.

The four clubs that participated in last season’s competition were North Hobart, University, Clarence and Glenorchy and it is envisaged the remainder of the clubs will follow suit over the coming seasons.
